The Minturn Cemetery District, serving the residents of Minturn, Vail, eastern Eagle-Vail and surrounding Eagle County communities was established in 1945 for the purpose of caring for and maintaining the Cemetery at 806 Cemetery Road in Minturn, Colorado, known today as the River View Cemetery and Mausoleum. Public funding for the cemetery is provided for by a property tax mill levy assessment within the Town of Minturn, the Town of Vail, and a small area of the Eagle-Vail community (between Minturn and the Route 6 Café). The Board of Directors is appointed by the Eagle county Commissioner’s office and consists of three members, none of which are paid. The duties of the Board of Directors is to oversee the fiscal facilitation, general operations and staffing of the River View Cemetery.

Cemetery drive-in gates will automatically open & close from 9am-5pm during the winter. The walk-in gate is always open. Call 970-827-4160 to arrange ADA access.

Casket Burial

The Minturn Cemetery has a newly plotted burial section in the upper area of the property. The land that runs adjacent to the Mausoleum building has over 280 plots available for use.

Cremains Burial
...

Cremains burials must be scheduled with Cemetery staff in advance of any burial service or private ceremony. Please call the Cemetery office to schedule an appointment.

Mausoleum Niche Interments

Interments and crypt casket burials are available in the Mausoleum building. Urns may be placed in niche spaces on the interior and exterior lower wall of the building..

Memorial Wall Plaques
...

The memorial wall and pathway is located at the top of the Cemetery next to the Mausoleum. The stone wall serves as an opportunity to place a bronze plaque in remembrance of loved ones.
